Fenlon impressed by McDermott showing

Shelbourne manager Pat Fenlon was impressed by former Manchester United trainee Alan McDermott during the course of a 3-0 friendly victory over Hartlepool United’s reserve side on Tuesday – although it is not certain whether the centre half will win a contract with the eircom League champions.

McDermott has been on the look-out for a new club since returning to Ireland after a spell in Scotland, which saw him turn out for Partick Thistle, Ayr United and Hamilton Academical
