He certainly did. Desperatly wanted to get into our squad before the 2002 world cup, but couldn't as a result of having played for Samoa under 15s or somethings. Rules have since changed. McCarthy showed little interest in him. Bare in mind that he was with Millwall at the time and not the household name we now knew. Would love to have him now
He'd be too flash for Trapattoni. If he left out a guy who plays guitar, what chance would Cahill have?
He is a superb player, fantastic talent.
