Harps outnumber champs in Division One selection

Finn Harps – who could only manage third place in last season’s First Division table and lost out on promotion in the play-off final – have been handed four places on the PFAI divisional Team of the Season, two more than champions and Premier Division newcomers Dublin City.

The Vikings claimed the title with a final weekend draw with Bray Wanderers when a defeat would have given the title to the Seagulls.

But strangely, Harps have received as many slots in the PFAI selection as Bray and Dublin City put together, despite the fact that they were out of the running for the league title by the final weekend of the regular season.
