Trundle reiterates Irish plea

New Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez has set his sights on persuading star Swansea City striker Lee Trundle to declare for his side - but the Liverpool-born forward, although flattered by the Northern interest, insists his heart lies with Brian Kerr’s Republic of Ireland.

Trundle qualifies for Ireland through the parentage rule, with one of his grandparents hailing from Dublin, and wants to force his way into the plans of Kerr in the coming months.
