Drumcondra FC have qualified for the 1st Round of the FAI Cup for the first time since the club went out of the old League of Ireland in 1972. Can anyone tell me when the first round is being played and are all the premier teams involved.

I don't know when the 1st round is on but the EL teams only come in for the second round.

First Saturday In Feb. No Prem or First involved. Well over half the teams in the First round are from Dublin.
Nice to see Tullamore FC make it as well as yerselves.
No, thats the Intermediate Cup your thinking of, we're off to Cork for that.
I thought at least the First Division teams were in the First Round.

Sorry I was sure it doubled as the first round of the Senior Cup as well.
It was a bit strange only eight teams going into the second round;)
What other teams have made it to the first round?
The last 16 of the Intermediate Cup and the 4 semi-finalists from the FAI Junior Cup. That makes 20. Not sure how they proceed from that. I think they add in the 12 First Div teams.
Those 20 non-league teams play in the 1st round and the winning 10 plus the 22 EL clubs go into the 2nd round (last 32).
Ya up in the dive that is known as Leeds Park.Quote:

Good luck, ye're gonna need it!
Come on Leeds!!:)
I heard it can be an intimidating place all right. We beat Everton in the last round in Morton Stadium, they were a smashing side. Heard Leeds are a lot more physical.
Best of luck to our old rivals would love to face you in the second round.
Same here Tommy, it would be a dream draw. Although we play in Morton, we’d have to ask the squatters for Tolka back for that one.

They're all geared up for this game against ye coz they know the intermediate cup is probably their only hope of silverware this season.
Will there be many of ye travelling down form Drumcondra for the game?
There's a 50-seater coach setting out a eight in the morning, but the hardened drinkers are heading down on Saturday, hopefully they'll make the match. Any decent boozers around there.
The Horseshoe have a great ''buy one bottle get another stuck in yer face for free'' offer at half-time.
Best of luck to Drums, never know, could face Rovers in Tallaght in the second round. What a draw that would be???
Bring back some fond memories!!!!
Dont you mean "burst through the door start roaring and abusing people, throwing stuff and then be surpised that people threw things back" offer:rolleyes:Quote:

Its the first time we've played in Cork since our League of Ireland days, 30 odd years ago now, so we're going to have a great day out. Too old for the fisticuffs. Just looking for a decent boozer near the Leeds ground.
Which side of the story would that be ??Quote:
