Was also at the game another top performance by a very inexperience young team.
Three or four under 17s in the team did not look out of place .
Hill doing a fantastic job ok he's getting paid but if yo
u want local players to get professional training you need to pay for the best.
All this will stand to them for next year target in getting into LOI
I say money well spent. You have to invest to speculate but if we do not get the supporter through the gates to support the club. We will be
good performance today by the lads, id say if some of them didnt play 120 mins friday night we may have gotten 3 points, they seemed to tire a bit near the end of the second half understandable, i take it the underage league finnishes at the end of the month, they play winter football dont they?,
pitifull attendance, officially it was 22 adults and 33 kids, give or take 2 or 3, so 385 euro, (season tickets not included, i counted 77 altogether doing a head count), i dunno what hill is getting paid but i dont think that enough to pay him,
I didn't even know there was a game on!
Well..............it was announced at the U17 game the other night and as well at the Tralee game. It was also on 96 and Red FM over the past two days. There are also posters around the town too. Not pointing any finger at you 14 but there was plenty of publicity about this game. You'd not have been able to make it anyway as like you said, you had a game.Quote:
but it's not often I don't even know there's a match!
Poor crowd considering it is a local team playing.
Were are the people that said put out a local team and the locals will come out and support them?
Typical of Cobh, won't support their own.
Maybe in a couple of years and things are going well and we will be challenging for the 1st division title again they will all crawl out from under the rocks that they are watching their favourite foreign teams and jump on the band wagon and claim what great supporters they are. (Remember Athlone November 2007)
Where are they now.
Was away for the last couple of weeks ,but looking at the reviews in paper etc it doesnt seem to be going to bad,in the performance sense.the only danger would be the young lads might burn themselves out.Is there any more news on the ex players coming back or is that all rumours again.
I remeber a game against monaghen back about 10 years ago when there was ony 10 people at a match so Sundays crowd was big by comparison.
The thing about local players and local management is rubbish. You are always going to have the fans who will follow them around no matter what but to the most part people only follow a winning team that has been proved not alone in athlone in 2007 in drogheda when we reached the playoffs in 2003 I think and any time there was a sniff of glory before that.
Its sad but true!!
