Crisis shmisis

Is all this talk of financial trouble just a cynical sponsorship drive?
All teams must ensure that their wage bills are a certain percentage of their income (can't remember what %) as part of de Uefa club registration process. Therefore clubs that are above this will have to cut their wage bill to comply. Therefore does a crisis really exist for de top clubs ??

If Shels are in trouble how can they afford to SIGN Glen Fitz, Alan Cawley and Ciaran "Britney-Spears-school-of-decision-making" Martyn

No details of any financial difficulties have come from Bohs (other than wages) to my knowledge

Only Rovers seem to genuinely have problems

Are clubs exaggerating or lloking for sympathy for something they have to do anyway? Not having a go just interested in other people's views on this.

when did Bohs ever say they had difficulty with wages ??

Bohs have financial problems which are being sorted out. Shels are the ones who asked their players to take a 30% deferral of wages, then signed 3 players.

Stephen Kenny said Bohs had to cut the wage bill and I believe 30% was the number mentioned. Liam O'Brien was let go as a cost cutting measure, or that's what they say anyway.

Yes exactly, the wage bill has to be trimmed by getting rid of dead wood.

Thats for the new season, the players werent asked to take a 30% cut, well not yet anyway.

Shels bought 3 players, but released 5, and they are all working for a 30% wage cut until the new season. Shels are in trouble - trust me!

Fair enough. And they did get hit by de flooding but all de talk in previous threads of clubs going under is over-de-top. A club in crisis would release players and not sign anyone new - Shels have been particularily busy in de transfer market with comings and goings, plus Stephen Geoghegan would not have played a big part next season anyway.

My point is that while things are not as rosy as we may have thought, they're not as bad as we fear either. All de "bigger" clubs will survive and de "lower" teams will continue their struggle for existence.

Tune in next season, same bat-crisis same bat-hysteria.
At least it's never dull :rolleyes:

Theyve (Shels) already saved money coz they aint getting Ciaran(Britney-Spears-school of-decision-making)Martyn!!!.Why are we all repeating that huge middle name? its a pain in the hole!!!
