Spare ticket for Shams

Lads,

Anyone know of a spare ticket going for tallaght tomorrow night?
I dont live in Sligo anymore so couldn't get down to the club office.

Ah Micheal Beag, what a player.
A no nonsense centre forward.
Played in the 95/96 season for us.
From what i can remember he used to fly over and back from England for each game.

At one stage Rovers being Rovers had to make an appeal to the business people to help pay his wages which was successful and he stayed for another while.
He also had a stint at Derry after he played for us.

Mike gets a couple of mentions and is the black guy sitting on the bench in this footage of Rovers v Shams in a cup quarter final played at the RDS.
The guy who replaced him that day was Mark Reid who was absolute muck imo and was later transfered to shams.

in relation to the match, we were absolutely robbed that day.
check out the decision the ref gave for the 'clothes lining' of the rovers player inside the box.
Similar in a way to the Carpenter incident of 78 in a reverse way. Funny how some things, like referees decisions favour the so called 'bigger clubs'
Which brings me to the attendence that day Rovers fans outnumbered the home side by about 3 to 1,
not bad for a small team from the country.

Kinda fitting considering were playing shams tomorrow

He scored the wining goal against Pats in the previous round in the Showgrounds. The game was midweek and there must of been a crowd of 6,000 at it. Also I remember Rovers rearranging a game that was down for the Saturday night to Friday night, has Small had a wedding to attend. The game was also against Pats and we hammered them four one.

Yeah but that wasn't the reason that was given to Pats for the request to rearrange and they were less than chuffed when they found out.:D
