The snow here has started to turn to slush, but the cold weather isn't expected to end just yet. You'd have to imagine this is going to turn the pitch into something of a quagmire. With the opening 6 nations game this weekend, what state will the turf be in by kick off on wednesday evening?
Croker survived the deluge on the weekend of the Galway/Kerry game last summer when Jones' Road flooded so I would be confident that it will be ok through this week's weather.Quote:

God ya I was up there that wkd. It was the worst rain I've ever seen for the Kerry Galway match and afterwards. The floodlights had to come on at about 4.30 (during the summer!!). That game was part of a double header and I was also at the Sunday games a day later where there were 3 matches played one after the other and the pitch was still in mint condition for the Kilkenny and Cork hurlers come the last match. no it won't suit us, the georgians will be used to horrendous conditions.
will have blown over by then anywy, but the pitch at croker held up well after all the rain following the sideshow of galway v kerry that took place after wexford beat armagh this summer.

Commentators on the rugby match said how well the outfield was looking. Snowing quite heavily in Dublin as I write so fingers crossed for the game on Wednesday, especially since I won 2 tickets for corporate hospitality in a draw :D

I dont really understand rugby but i know what i hate, and i dont hate it.
it cost $20 to watch the game yesterday though which i think is a bit silly. Nice to see us finally beat france at something though.
