Exclusive: Drogs want Prem spot


Setanta.com can reveal that Drogheda United fully intend of taking their place in the Premier Division next season. The Boynesiders secured their future at the High Court on Thursday morning when Ms Justice Finlay Geoghegan confirmed that she was satisifed the club had sorted their situation with their creditors.

With specualtion in recent weeks suggesting that the County Louth side were preparing to drop down to either the First Division or the Newstalk A Championship, they have now confirmed their intention of staying in the top flight. Club PRO Terry Collins stated that Drogheda are eager to repay the faith shown by their loyal supporters by playing in the Premier Division for 2009. "We were in court this morning and it was quite hectic, but we got through it," Collins told setanta.com.
