FAI appoint four Development Officers for Limerick
The Football Association of Ireland have announced that it has appointed Barbara Bermingham, Pat Halpin, Tommy Barrett and Michael McCarthy as Development Officers for Limerick city. These posts are supported by the Limerick Regeneration Agencies in recognition of the role that sport, and in particular soccer, can play in promoting social inclusion in the city.
Speaking at the launch, Brendan Kenny, Chief Executive of the Limerick Regeneration Agencies said; “I am delighted to announce these new appointments. The FAI Development officers will play a vital role within the Limerick community. They will provide individuals, including children, with an opportunity to meet, to develop their social skills and to promote active citizenship by encouraging volunteerism and community involvement. It will also provide new immigrants coming into the county an opportunity to integrate into their new communities.”
