Does anyone else think that Derry getting relegated, and replaced by another dub team would be bad for the league? It looks like Dublin City are going to come up automatically. I see Derry very much like us, having all that travelling to do. I wont be too pi$$ed off if they beat us. The premier division needs Derry.
Definitely the league needs Derry, though I don't want to sit there and watch them beat us. A report in the Irish Times last week said that Dublin City gets crowds of about 200, has no seats. And whats worse, because the club is based on fund-raising rather than gate receipts, they reckon they could survive on gates of about 750 in the Premier Division. Thats hopeless. Maybe the league needs to look at putting a quota on the number of Dublin clubs allowed in the division - I would suggest one less than there are now as a maximum.
Hate to see Home Farm come up, however if there are financing a team on fundraising alone, all clubs could learn a lot from them (whether you like Seery or not, and I hate the untc)
Nope, the premier division needs more good teams, and Derry could not be accused of being anything better than rubbish at the moment.Quote:

That said, I would hate if Dublin City came up. Thye would bring absolutely nothing with them.
Just heard that the ground is looking okay, and the weather is meant to improve, so there should be nay problems tonight.
I'd love to see Derry stay up BUT they have been struggling now for a few seasons.
As for Dublin City, they had plans to play at Tolka when they nearly got promoted the season before last.
They have at least made an effort to change and survive because the old Home Farm/Fingal/Everton had crowds ranging from 20 - 100, if the travelling club brought people.
Considering some clubs are struggling badly maybe they could take a leaf out of their book in some ways.
As for tonight if the game goes ahead the weather will not help the conditions for a good match, but then for whatever reason Derry and City are never the best of affairs.
