When will we finally get with it and plan the future of Cobh Ramblers. All the Dublin teams (and other areas) have academies for up and coming talent. We are quite happy to do nothing and hope that an emerging star will appear every 10 years or so......we then hope to outplay all 1st div clubs with available talent .....even City are getting in on the act now with the 15-16 yr old setup and working their way down to eventually replace corinthians setup....fair play to ye corinthians .... ye have shown league of Ireland (pro clubs) how to do it over the years and they still have not learned from ye as to what yere at or more importantly WHY ye are at it

Cobh Ramblers Academy,
I agree that the talent needs to come from somewhere, but Ramblers don't have the staff to run or money to finance this kind of adventure. Cork City have just joined up with the (Cork School Boys League)CSL U16 as an attempt to bring in some talent.
The unfortunate thing, is any player with promise is being tempted away from the League of Ireland. therefore any investment benefits cannot be recouped.

CORK CITY FC STRENGHTENS LINKS WITH CORK SCHOOLBOYS LEAGUE
Cork City FC and the Cork Schoolboys League have announced a new agreement which will see the Cork Schoolboys League u16 team operate as the Cork City FC development squad.
Under the terms of the agreement Cork City FC will provide financial support and technical and coaching expertise to the team.
In welcoming the new arrangement Cork City FC, Technical Director Liam Murphy said: "This is a very important development for the club and the schoolboys league. It will ensure that the Cork u16 Schoolboys team will enjoy the benefits of top class coaching staff and equipment. We obviously hope that some of the players will go on to make the grade as professional footballers with Cork City in the years ahead.
Club Chairman, Brian Lennox added: "I am delighted with this new arrangement. It is further progress towards achieving our objective of positioning Cork city FC at the very heart of the football community in Cork."
Hope everyone can see whats around the corner. All Ramblers youth players that are good enough to make CSL U16 team are now going to steered towards City for future years.........
