This season the league has been quite open. The biggest surprises have been how well the crues have done. hey had recruited well in the summer and the players have done excellent. A surprise for me is how unpredictable the performances of Linfield and Cliftonville have been.
long way to go, so league title wide and anyone of 4 could win it.
Linfield will do well to win it again this year. DJ is ****ing about and insisting in playing the "legends" that owe us nothing.
Last nights match was enjoyable to watch from an excitement point of view. Standard wasnt great but enjoyed it. How many times do the teams play each other this year before the split
Three, like in Scotland.
Saw a good bit of the match last night. It seemed to have a fairly decent crowd at it for a Monday night and there were plenty of cheers when Newry scored the first time.
Our league form has been pisch poor we are down in ninth although we did win the County Antrim Shield beating the Glens and Linfield on the way. The top of the league looks wide open at the moment with 4 teams in with a shout too difficult to call at the moment really.
According to a Ballymena fan on another forum:
"Yep, was £3 for over 16, and free for under 16. Officially there was 1300 at the match, but a couple of hundred more as kids with parents who won competitions etc, and some season tickets holders didn't go through the turnstiles.
A good crowd for the team at the bottom of the league against a team who aren't considered a major rival. Although Newry brought a decent crowd about 150."
Assuming the gate money lost from reduced admission prices was (more than?) compensated for by the TV Fee, this was a great bit of marketing by BUFC i.e. a much bigger crowd than usual inside the Showgrounds and a few more (OK, handful, maybe!) watching at home on TV.
