Kearney in U-20 squad

Kearney is one of the only two Irish based players to get picked in the U-20 squad for the upcoming friendly with Italy.

Well it would have been a surprise if he wasnt picked, considering he had a blinding first couple of matches.

Bit worrying for the league that we only have two players in the squad though.
I'd hoped to see Doyle in there as well.

Keith Fahey was left out due to a possible Cup Replay

Be very surprised if Fahy didn't make the WC squad.

Kearney looks like he has the skill but maybe struggles with the eL physical nature. Think he was regualr u-20 starter so be good for him to get a chance at the WC.

I reckon Doyler should be in the squad too. he's done brilliantly for us this season and scored in his last international.

I think Doyler just fell victim to the influx of eligible u21 players. Then again, with Flynn out, the club might have requested he be left out for the italian friendly, a similar consideration shown to Pat's over Fahey

But they let Kearney go...

with Casey and N****wo we have cover for Kearney, with Flynn out, and Georgie suspended (and on four yellows afaik) the los of doyle would be a real blow.

Yeah, that makes sense

plus the game is on Wed AFAIK, this will allow kearney time to join up with the city squad for the bohs game.....
