Glentoran through 1-0 at United Park, had Leeman and Hill sent off late on. Well done to Glens, some turn around from being bottom of the group.
Is it concerning that there was no updates thread for the games? Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it maybe it's indicative of interest in the competition supposedly falling.
Anyway I'm hoping Derry continue their run of squeaking past Cork making it the first all 'Nordie' Setanta decider. :cool:
I watched the game tonight and thought it was actually a really exciting match to watch. Bloody hell Drogs are devoid of all football just play high balls into the box. It has to be very worrying times for Drogehda fans, i think they thought they would probably get to final at the least and it may have sounded they thought the funds were already in the coffers. Glentoran were terrific, i thought penalty was probably a peno, seen them given seen them not but it was never a sending off. As well as that Drogs should have had two sent off with Winter who i never ever rated having a shocker and could not even get the injury time right playing a minute less than supposed to. The fallout from this result is i can only see things getting worse for Drogs to be honest it is difficult to see light at the end of the tunnel.
One last thing it was an absolute disgrace that a Drogs fans hit the lino with a coin not sure how the FAI go about issuing a fine for that or how will Drogs pay it.
I watched the game aswell. Got a Dublin City Centre pub to change over twice from English League Two ( Notts Cty v. Brentford). 1st half and start of 2nd half.Success.

Watched the game in a Dublin pub too. Once I'd asked them to switch over there was no problems.. People looked to be getting into it when 'Fabio' missed that penalty.. Glentoran deserved it, well done to them. Is the final in Dublin then as last year was in Belfast?
I doubt it'd be Dublin. Cork v Glens could be Cork. Derry v Glans will probably be BelfastQuote:

I don't follow your logic. The final was in Belfast last year so won't be there again. It is the turn of LOi side to have final in their territory. Holding Cork/Derry City v Glentoran in Dublin would be a stupid as would mean all fans have to travel minimum of 2 hours. Would be lucky to 2000 crowd as Setanta does not have the appeal of FAI Cup.Quote:

Why is both clubs travelling 2 hours a less stupid idea than one (Cork) club travelling 6 or 7 hours, and the other about 20 mins? And from what I've seen Glentoran would bring a decent crowd, as would ourselves, and surely Cork would too seeing as their season rests on it?Quote:

The fact that a team from the Irish League got to the final is great, coz if two teams from the same league were in the final I have to say it would be a bit boring. Both teams in the final will be representing their associations and leagues now.

Outstanding support last night from the East Belfast faithful. Certainly the 570 away fans played a big part in knocking out the champs. A bit of a difference from the 57 travelling St Pats fans up at the Oval last week!!
But I'm gutted we're going to lose our inspirational captain Paul Leeman for the final, the referee couldn't wait to get the card out. JOKE!!!!!
On a brighter note, we're in the final and Linfield arn't :p

I've got a pretty nice bet going on to tonights game being 0-0 at 11/2. Saw a greyhound running this morning in one of those cartoon races when in the bookies called Soapy Joe at 4/1(I kid you not) and I did a €20 double on him and a 0-0 tonight.
