Trouble from both sides according to Paddy Agnew here.
Means more tickets should go on sale for the home game if the continue with this ban.
Pity, it's great to have a loud and colourful away support at Ireland games, it adds to the atmosphere.

Foot.ie Flag may not visit Italy.  :o
Remember they dont come here until next October so things could well have changed by then
According to a interview on Newstalk last night it was as much to do with trouble between rival Sofia clubs as anything else. Some Bulgarians apparantly assissted in burning their national flag that had the name of their rival on it.
Met a Montengran supporter in Podgorica and he said that when they played the Bulgarians there was some rioting and that's why there were so many police while we were in town.
A group of Napoli "fans" travelled to the match basically just to start something with the fans of some particular Bulgarian club(can't remember which). The group had links with fans of a rival Bulgarian club.
I am surprised that the Herald has not ran a story blaming Bohs or Rovers fans for this !!!!
Looks like both sets were up for a bit of an old rumble, not just the Italians, Bulgarian fans were lobbing fire crackers in at the small group of Italians, who by the sounds of things where all members of the main Italian supporters club, some of which it seems now are found out to have some dodgy links allegedly.
