Why are meetings held as 7pm?
In the begining, I went to all meetings. This time does not suit me. I acknowledge that my preferred time of 9pm may not suit everyone but could the time of meetings be flucuated?
I have 2 kids under three years of age who don't get to bed until 7.30 hence I am typing this at 7.52pm.
.
good point
GUST started holding meetings on the first Tuesday of every month when we were founded in 2001.
When we were promoted to the Premier Division, meetings were increased to once a fortnight, on Tuesday.
Monthly meetings were held at 9.00pm, and attendances were dwindling. Numbers have increased since we moved to 7.00pm meetings. This time appears to suit supporters who don't want to be out late during the week. Some supporters would prefer a 5.00pm/6.00pm start. Of course, 9.00pm would be the preferred time for some people as well. The fact that all our meetings are in the city also makes it difficult for many supporters to attend.
It is impossible to find a time/location that suits everyone, so we have chosen the time/location at which we are getting the larger attendances. The meeting times are organised two weeks in advance (next meeting 7th October), so at least people who want to attend can plan in advance.
Next meeting this Tuesday, 7th October, upstairs in Fibber Magees, at 7.00pm
sharp.
The major item on the agenda will be preparations for the upcoming FAI Cup Sem-Final vs Derry City.
All United supporters welcome to attend.
