A few years ago - one of our number - Ger Byrne - used to regale us on the coach on the way back from games with a selection of 80s classics (Copacabana, etc.) - and one of those songs was "Hold Me Now"
We were already singing Hold Me now in Trondheim for the Rosenborg Champions League tie a few seasons ago - when one of the locals actually recognised the tune and uttered to us "Ahhhhhh Johnny Logan 3 times Eurovision winner!".
On the flight on the way back Ger was coaxed up to sing by the air hostess over the internal PA of the plane and together they sang Summer Loving, he then went on to sing Hold Me Now.
The song then became the "official European away trip song" and got an airing wherever we went - it then got used more and more - and now has become a kind of unofficial club anthem.
The rest - as they say - is history.
He loves a cheesy number does Ger! Imagine if he'd sung Copacabana that fateful day in Trondheim, would have been a big ask to get Manilow down to Dalyer on Sunday!!
Think we'd been giving a few of the locals a bit of banter about 'Norway Null Points' before Ger launched into it that day, pure comedy!!
He had a tear in his eye when Logan sang it on Sunday, emotional day for him!
