• Here Comes the Season

    Life in the early stages of the transition to coach/player has certainly been interesting. Won one, drawn one and lost one to date in pre-season. The loss against a very talented Terenure FC under-19 team will have taught us as much, if not more than, the other results. We're putting together a bigger and hopefully better squad for this season, so there has been plenty of experimentation with players and shape in the games so far. As the new management duo and yours truly build up a better knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses in the squad, we continue to be positive about our prospects for the season.
    Just one more friendly to take place next Thursday against our old friends from the over 35 team stands between us and the start of the season. I'm looking forward to seeing the fixtures on Tuesday and working out our first competitive squad of the season. We'll know fairly quickly how our prospects are looking for the season, as the games will come thick and fast in the opening weeks, and my usual hopeless optimism is building. Hell I even managed to score a goal last night so anything is possible!
