Eugene McGivern takes his regular look at the world around him as Gaeilge

I rith an UEFA Europa sraithchomórtas do chonaic mé go raibh athrú nua eile á thriail sa cluiche sacar. Bhí béirt réiteoir cúnta breise ann chun seasamh in aice leis an líne chúil chun cabhrú leis an réiteoir. Bhí siad ar thaobh na láimhe clé is tú ag breathnú ón ciorcal láir ag an taobh thall den réiteoir cúnta atá ag an taobhlíne. Níl mé cinnte an mbeidh an modh nua seo mar buansheasamh sa cluiche ach déireann ...

Eugene McGivern takes his regular look at football As Gaeilge

Tá jab crua ag an réiteoir gan dabht ach gan é (nó í) le súile géarra agus an fheadóg le fuaim árd agus caol níl bheadh cluiche peile ar siúl ar chor ar bith. Do thosaigh mé ag smaoineamh faoin fheadóg agus an sórt atá ag an fear/bean sa lár. Tá rogha maith le fáil; an Balilla A-1 Metal Whistle déanta san Iodáil á úsáid i Serie A, an Fox 40 Classic ó Ceanada á úsáid i gCorn an Domhain 1990, 1994 agus 2002, an Acme Cyclone ...

  8. Asmaisféar agus ceol

Eugene McGivern a regular contributor to both the Athlone Town matchday programme and gives his views as Gaeilge

Cad a chruthíonn asmaisféar maith nuair atá cluiche sacar Airtricity ar siúl in Éireann? Ceapaim go bhfuil sé tábhachtach nuair atá tú ag teacht cóngaracht don phairc nach mbeadh eagla ort chun dul isteach tríd an geata agus tú ag an faiche spóirt sin don céad uair riamh. Nuair nach bhfuil na stíobhard sábháilteachta garbh nó mí-chairdiúil, sin tús ...
