Who are the highest paid players in the el??

I have always wondered what some of the top players in the el make. Who are the best paid players at your club?

As far as I know glen Crowe is the highest paid player at Bohs. His contract is believed to be worth €250,000 over 3 years.

I think one or two others are on good money too, like Hunt and Hawkins.

You hardly ever read about it in the papers as it seems to be a well guarded secret.

I suppose Crowe is the highest alright & rest of Bohs & $hel$ (depends if include signing-on fees etc...) squad not far behind?

I'm sure theres probably a good few players in "smaller" clubs getting paid too much as well as some highly paid part-timers?

****ing hell! Thats huge money for a first division club (pretty big money for a premier team I reckon)

Through a fried of a friend type thing, Eoin Heary is on €1,200 a week. You can only imagine what Jason Byrne is on.

Its no wonder teams are constantly struggling when average players are on that kind of money.

Where do Shels get that kind of dosh? Not from gate receipts anyway.

The reason shels are loaded is that they have:


High profile friendlies a few times a year Man U, Leeds and Dreamteam.


They rent out Tolka Park for the FAI cup final etc....


Thier bars are run quite well and have a good turnover.


Ollie Byrne is loaded.
