Championship manager boasting!

He sounds well up for it alright - could be around for a while, with some success too I'd say.

By the way Schumi - what happened to your managerial application? Did the board not believe you?!

They didn't believe that they'd have given me any money to spend!

Incidentally, came third in my third season with UCD - into the InterToto Cup. Would have gotten into the UEFA but Derry lost in the CUp Final to Sligo in the First Division...

Team went half-fit as usual, played a friendly against Pegasus which made matters worse (plus I lost, which the board didn't like!), scraped past a Luxembourgese side 2-1 after losing away and then drew a Turkish crowd. 15 minutes in, Bazza gets injured and has to come off. 30 minutes in, his replacement gets injured and has to come off! Bring on Robbie Mac, who concedes six goals as we lose 6-0. How the hell do you stop that happening?!?!

Beat them 1-0 at home though!

        Two ways:

Bring two keepers on the bench.
Cheat by quiting out of the game without saving, and replaying the match.
1 - Then the third keeper would have gotten injured too! And with my small squad, he'd have been one of the players who doesn't exist and we'd still have gotten hammered!
2 - Believe me, I've tried that one!!!

I think it's something to do with being semi-pro.

It happened to me when I was managing Oldham. I hadn't quite turned them into a juggernaught yet, but after making my third sub against Rangers in the UEFA Cup final, I had my keeper injured. Lost 0-4. Hammered Rangers in a pre-season friendly a couple of months later. I think it was 5-0.

Wow, that Doolo thread seems to attract random tangents like Shamrock Rovers attract evictions!

                ...

I've won everything with U.C.D. Name a competition that we're able to enter (i.e. not the World Cup) and I've won it with us.

Coffee and the death of full-backs was the answer to my success.
And stay out of Bumtown, ya no talent bum.

The CL? Man, even I've not spent that much time on CM.
