2 best chances have come from crosses from left to right. Their right full is on his debut, facing Duff, that should be exploited.
Whelan and Reid haven't gotten a grip in central midfied, although Reid has made some nice passes when he's been in possession
Norway's strikers have been caught offside a lot, one well timed run could catch us out

Game at a high tempo for a friendly
Duff ran at the defence in space, good shot tipped over
McGeady just wide from the corner

Great attitude from the players, they're throwing themselves into tackles, trying to be creative and seem to really want this. I haven't seen the Ireland team so motivated in a long time. :)
im in work so cant watch the game, and have the cheapo NTL at home...is the highlights on normal television tonight??

Good man Robbie, nice goal!
loads of space, runs into the box, turns the centre half, and shoots through the keepers legs!
sweet... in owrk too... hope the highlights will be available online later - sounds like we're playing pretty damn good.

Great goal. Norway are poor but we are playing well. Mick Robinson in the studio!

Norway are a solid enough team, I think that it's more a case of us playing well.

Stephen Reid has been excellent. The way he is passing the ball reminds me of Ronnie Whelan in his prime. Great to see.

Dean Kiely coming on at half time, good call.
"he's getting old, and wants to get as many caps as possible" according to Dolan.
really lashing down

So far so good, Ireland have looked to keep knocking the ball around. I'd like to see Duff get into it more and beat his man. Whelan has done well , Reid has been excellent albeit its not the most combatitive midfield I've ever seen.

is whelan naturally right or left footed? - I 've seen reels of him in his sheffield wednesday days banging in goals with both...

It's incredibly water logged. McGeady caught in possession and then lets his man slip behind him for an easy 1-2.
Middle of the pitch is a swamp.

Both teams being affected by the conditions, few longs balls coming in from Norway now.
Norway having a good little spell at the moment

Kiely missed a high ball from a free near the corner flag, rebounded off Kilbane's head straight at the Norway centre half, easy tap in

Kiely misses ball completely and Kilbane heads ball back acros our goal to gift Norway a goal. Mind you it was never a free kick in the first place.

Exactly but we still have to defend them. We're looking a bit ragged now.

We will qualify if Steven Reid stays fit. I don't know how he isn't performing as one of the best players in the English League.

Dunne given MOTM, dunno if I'd go for him, but he's had a solid game
Steven Reid was the standout player in the first half, but had less of an influence in the second half

I see Montenegro drew 3-3 with Hungary away so no easy game there.

Hungary are a terrible team, but 3-3 is a decent result.

Only got to see the second half but yet again its a defender that gets MOTM. Is that a fair reflection of the game??

I like Robinson, seems a bit more level headed than Dolan.
Mind you, so do the lads who take the **** out of him on Apres Match!

Montenegro are an unknown. They let 3 in against Hungary tonight. With Trapp we have played Serbia, Colombia, and now Norway and have let in 2...

Not too sure how Kilbane managed to head the ball back across the goal, although I don't think he knew much about it to be honest.
Ha ha anyone leave the channel on to see the Scotland match with it's 'commentator'? :D
