I was in a few sports shops in Blanchardstown this morning, and I decided to see what LOI jersies (if any) they had. Went to Lifestyle Sports, a massive store in the retail park. Upstairs is wall-to-wall Rugby, GAA and well-known football jersies. On a small rail beside some Celtic gear, I found a few Pats, Shams, Wexford Youths (surprising!) and Sporting Fingal shirts. All were made by either Umbro or O'Neill's. I wouldn't consider this bad per se, only when you consider the massive amounts of PL jersies on sale, well....
Also checked Elverys: had Bohs and Shels shirts only.
Lifestyle Sports, smaller store in the centre: no LOI jersies.
At this stage, I got bored of it and didn't check any of the other stores. I imagine it's much the same.
I know that in Sligo, the only place to get Rovers gear is either at the ground, or in the Jako Sports shop, which is a bit out of the way.
What are other people's experiences?

You can't get Bray jersey's anywhere. Bohs and Rovers jersey's are available in lifestyle sports though, or they were last time I was there.

They did have them on sale in Tansey's on Quinsboro Road for a bit and, afaik, they were sold in Lifestyle when they first came out last year.
They can still be bought in the club shop, surely.
It's a lot better than the bad old days when adidas wouldn't give us any to sell.

Shame on anyone who buys them, they're identical to last years.
Think the only place now to get Derry shirts now is ONeills factory. :D

John Kents does have a stock of them as well. Jako not that far out of the way.Hardly expect to find Shams jersey in double more than you would a rovers one in Dublin. Not that kind of demand around,Id say!

Limericks club shop on Davis st has St Pats, Shamrock Rovers, Bray, Galway and Dundalk jerseys for sale along with our own. Its the only place in Limerick (afaik) that has them.

I was in Athlone's spanking new shopping centre last week, Athlone jersey not available anywhere! If we are going to promote this league surely ATFC jersies should be at least available in the SC.:o

Drogs stuff is readily available in the Drogheda shop, in Drogheda (obviously). Plenty of things available as well. Jerseys, hats, scarves, jackets, hoodies as well as other stuff like mugs, DVDs, key rings, lanyards, mouse mats. etc
They are also available from their online store and on match nights in United Park.

In its current location, not many people walk past it. Unlike, say, John Kent, Elverys, Barton Smith, etc.

Very good point. There is only one shop in Athlone which sells them due to agreements apparently which personally I thought was bad enough. That was until I went to Elverys in Athlone's old Shopping Centre where they sell Longford Town shirts

Dundalk merchandise is sold in Oriel's Club shop from Mon-Fri , And also the new office in the town. Jerseys and shorts are avaible in every sports shop in the town.

You would think with our shirts being Nike that they would put a few into every sports shop in the country but you cant even get them in the shop in Monaghan! Only place to get them is through our Robert Carlisle lookalike merchandise manager at Mons.

I really wish they'd sort it out. It'll be out of date by the time they get it together.

probably had Youths jersey as Lifestyle Sports is owned by people from Wexford.
For us we have shops to sell them but no jersey to sell as O'Neills so slow in supplying them

Ridiculous situation. Do O'Neill's not like making money? How do they expect to do so when their products aren't on sale in the very places that people will buy them?
Same for Longford and Athlone. Craziness.

then to busy with GAA season personally think we need to review who supplies our jersey as the club is losing a lot of money when we dont have the jersey to sell

O'Neills are terrible sponsors imo. When they were sponsoring us the size shirts they gave us to sell were a joke.
I had to get a large Youths jersey because they had sold out of small and medium sizes and it's like a dress on me and I'm 5' 9", OK I'm a skinny weed, but still it's ridiculously huge.

When you see some of the kits the under 18's have worn over the years, made by Puma and the like, it really makes you aware of how poor the O'Neills efforts are.

McFaddens in Balbriggan is fantastic for LOI jersies. Plenty of Bohs, Shels, Pat's, Rovers, Drogheda & Sporting Fingal stock in the store & will order in anything you want.

The Soccer Shop on George's Street in Dublin is good too for most of the Dublin clubs. They even have Dundalk and Galway United jerseys too.

Has the Club asked the shops to stock them? Declan Loughman told my brother years ago he'd take them on sale or return no problem.l A bit more exposure round the town would be great.

I know we did ask Lifestyle Sports a few seasons ago and they told us no way but not sure if they have been approached since.
There is also a problem with jerseys the club shop in Cork City but I'm not sure of the ins and outs of what is happening thereThink its to do with the money we owe Hummel.
Scandalous that we don't have a stock of jerseys at the height of summer, i'm sure tourists would snap them up.

Apart from the club shop I have seen the Pats jersey for sale in champion sports on Henry Street.

Yeah, what's the story with that?
reason is i believe that the club owe the kit suppliers money hence the reason why they are not in sale in the shop.. they were told to keep last seasons away jersey because they didnt sell enough.. from what I hear on the grapevine there will definitely be a new town home jersey on sale with new kit suppliers next season..

They're not owed any money or weren't the last I heard but I guess it's fair to say our track record with them wouldnt be the best so there wouldn't be any chance of getting credit off them to order in stock or team gear. I personally think they should have got some in but as you say they'll probably be changing next year. Umbro aren't the best for giving playing gear to First Division teams either apparently. No idea who we'd be switching to though, who haven't we ****ed off yet? Jako? Nike? St. Bernard?..

maybe Michael Guiney's will do us a job lot. Or how's about Lansdowne. They did those cheap nasty Dublin City jerseys a while back. or maybe Penney's. Im liking Canterbury's football shirts at the moment.

There are usually GUFC jerseys in most sports shops around Galway.
Not last week when I was home on holidays and I searched everywhere. Best I could do was Lifestyle on the Headford Road that had last seasons jersey upstairs in the discount store. At fifty euro a pop, the discount was small! :D
Contrast this with the availability of Galway GAA gear and the huge range of Connacht rugby kit in all stores I visited.
Stocked up on the rugby gear instead!
