Wexford Youths will welcome back the injured trio of Paul Murphy, Joey Wadding and Stuart Lawlor ahead of Friday night's home clash with Shelbourne.
Wexford manager Mick Wallace knows that his side will be in for a tough game against a Shels side who he believes still have every chance of winning the title.
"Beating Shelbourne will be a challenge," Wallace admitted. "We haven't been going as well as we would have liked of late and Shels are a strong side and I certainly wouldn't write them off for the title yet. There are 14 games left, so that's 42 points up for grabs and they are well capable of winning the title this year."
Wallace also believes that Dermot Keely and his side will be looking forward to his visit to Ferrycarrig Park.
"I know Shelbourne like coming down to us to play on our pitch, and I think Dermot will be looking forward to some good grub and a nice glass of wine down here as well, because I'm sure he doesn't get enough of it!"

Nice to see the lads back, especially Murphy, wonder will he put the lads back in defense seeing as the replacements havnt done too bad. Cant wait to see Murphy and Furlong in tandem.
Pats game is all ticket btw, best to invest tonight.

Great that Paul Murphy is back. He really is key to the team having an attacking threat. If he could get properly fit, go at least 6 months without an injury, he could be an absolute star at this level.

Furlong is not around tonight so probably murphy up front alone
Tickets for pats game on sale at half time and full time also wednesday night in club and other outlets during the week.

according to reports from training he is not interested enough to get fully fit to help him stay injury free. also been doing just fine creating chances in last few games. just need our current strikers to be more clinical and that will come with time

Well i tought it was a great game, probably most entertainng of the yr, we played very well, definetly deserved a pt, to go 3 down was harsh in the extreme.
I didnt see what Russel did to get sent off but to go for an off the ball incident is stupid, very unlike him. Couldnt believe Waddings red card, all around us we presumed it was Flood that got an harsh red for going in on Pa Doyle but somehow he managed to give it to Joey, ridiculuous.
Anyway like i said if we play like that we should be in the top 6, not rock bottom after Kildares 1:0 win last night! Relegation would be a disaster for us and a real kick in the nuts for the league imo. I tought all our lads did well, Gavin Doyle much improved, Murphy looks ******ed but is still class, back 4 was solid, young Wallace looks the part, alas Connor Sinnot was again hounded out of the game but in fairness to him keeps plugging away. I love KK's attitude, brought the ball straight to the central spot for the Ko after the 1st goal and then hit the post soon after.
Monaghon away and then Athlone and Longford at home coming up. 9pts is definitely possible but i'd settle for 5.

As I understand it, relegation from the 1st division is not nesessarily going to happen. A non-premiership side has to finish in the top 4 from the A Championship and then play off with the bottom placed team in the 1st division. Even if the A Championship team win the play-off, they have to meet the licencing criteria.
I stand open to correction on this. The A Championship is in 2 sctions and the current tables can be seen at www.extratime.ie

That is my understanding of it too. The FAI stated in their proposal for the FAI/league merger and have subsequently restated that one of the non-reserve sides would have to finish in the top four to qualify for a playoff against bottom in the first. The two groups does confuse the issue though, perhaps two from each group qualify for a semi-final thereby giving you a 'top 4'? They should have cleared all of this up before the start if the A Championship to be honest...

Tullamore don't look like finishing anywhere near the top 4 in our group so I doubt it will come to that.
