well i wasant at the match so i cant say the the same as you, but for a long me and many others have been saying that barry is a liability to longford. how can you start a player that is going to get sent 0f 7 or 8 times in a season, my figures may not be right but there not far wrong. and i believe he isnt even that good, he cant take free kicks the first thing that comes to his head when the ball comes near him is kick it over the stand and hes a dirty thug, there are so many other games he should have been sent of in that he hasnt. i remember he hit o flynn an awful back heel kick in the knee and the ref missed it, hes always at this sort of sh*t, especially of the ball.

I never thought it would provoke that sort of reaction, still tho, I can't say I agree with Barry's methods of being physical. Have to say that I'm disappointed at him getting sent-off, but he has improved on his initial displinery problems... he needs to clean up his act...

As regards Sheridan... he gets done for mouthing the ****ing ****, it's worse that dirty play and worse than competitive tackles... from what I heard and I wasn't at the game, he got Macca off and then got booked for mouthing... Also heard it wasn't a pleasent night to be a Town fan...

Again I wouldn't like to comment too much, but I'm pretty sure that this is Barry's first sending off of the season, and for two yellow's too....

Personally I think the difference between Spocks and Matthews town teams is that they are able to physically compete, and that showed with our highest ever finish last season.... I really rate Barry, and his partnership with McGovern is surely the best we've ever had...

Who would you rather? Macca who got sent off in the same match for head butting Sheridan (fair fooks to some extent)? Speaking to a few Bohs fans I know they say Macca defo should've gone - Sheridan made the most of it, but they had no complaints....

Sheridan on the other hand is a total embarrassment with his constant whinging and back chatting, acting the hard man once the whistle has blown, despite his inability to tackle...

Personally I'd rather have players sent off for challenging, and with some of the strikers in this league you need to be strong - obviously sometimes that is going to back fire, but in the main I have no complaints....

Meant to add - various people I've been speaking to from other clubs rate Barry very highly..... Pats, Bohs and Rovers fans have all commented how good he is and how they can't see him being around Longford for long as he'll get offered full time football at one of the bigger clubs - IMO that would be a bad day for De Town....

Barry is highly rated, no doubt about it... If Longford are to sustain the status-quo we need to hold on to our best and he is one of them... IMO he may have let us down against Bohs but a majority of town fans would rejoice in news that he signed a three year deal, were it to happen... We're heading in the right direction under a man I believe will be great for us...

There's alot of differences in Spock's team and Matthew's team, in a different enviorment...

I would have our man anyday now over Kenny... eight days a week...

It's not the fact that they were sent off that annoys me, it's the manner they went about doing it. One of the lads said about two minutes before sheridan got the line, "sheridan will be sent off yet. Guaranteed", and thats the way it was in both cases. You could see both of them coming a mile off.
Barry had two previous attempts to throw an arm at a bohs player before he finally made contact, so it wasn't a case of two yellows for mistimed tackles or anything of the sorts.
As for the other fool, a mouth and nothing else. Talked his way into his first booking and then got thick when one of the bohs players beat him to the tackle 30 seconds beforehand.

In fairness that was the only favour the ref did for us all night...getting darragh off the field!Hes a nuisance, he gets in the way! Hes a right hard man when hes mouthin to players and officials but when it comes down to physical tackles he pulls out....someday he will get himself seriously injured!

Well in fairness at least Darragh got sent off putting in a challenge(albeit late)but no excuses for elbowing.

In my opinon, Sheridan should be run out of the club. He was due a sending off one of these days. As for Dodgy Dempsey, what was Matthews thinking about? He can't save to save his life. He reminds me of that other clown ,Kevin McCormack. Rem him in the cup game vs Bohs in Kennys rewturn to the Town.
Also Alan Muprhy is on his last legs. His time at the club surely is up. Gartland should be promoted to the team.
Thank God Digger is back for the Waterford game. Hopefully I wont see any more **** like last week.
