Crowne Plaza is just off the motorway and deside the Regional Collage DKIT. It's too far for a walk to Oriel but a taxi would have you there in 5 mins . Around Oriel though there are a number of B&B within 2 mins walking distance.

Crowne Plaza is a good 30 - 40 min walk from Oriel Park (see here (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=Dublin+Rd%2FN1+%4053.979930,+-6.393450&daddr=Carrickmacross+%4053.999280,+-6.416430&hl=en&geocode=3229521923487090222,53.979930,-6.393450%3B5385484196725831160,53.999280,-6.416430&mra=ls&dirflg=w&sll=53.99498,-6.405458&sspn=0.013472,0.038452&ie=UTF8&z=14)), there is an hotel right outside Oriel but it is closed down now.

Closest hotel to Oriel is Imperial (http://www.hotelclub.net/hotel.reservations/Imperial_Hotel_Dundalk.htm) and is only about a 15min walk (see here (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=Francis+St%2FN52+%4054.003287,+-6.402094&daddr=Carrickmacross+%4053.999280,+-6.416430&hl=en&geocode=17750097750506925296,54.003287,-6.402094%3B5385484196725831160,53.999280,-6.416430&mra=ls&dirflg=w&sll=53.99918,-6.418891&sspn=0.006735,0.019226&ie=UTF8&ll=54.001287,-6.409256&spn=0.006735,0.019226&z=16))

This b&b is right beside Oriel Park about 2mins walk http://www.innisfreeguesthouse.com/Opening/innisfree.htm

Train station to oriel would take 5 minutes. Would take at least 45 minutes to walk to the crowne plaza. So a taxi is your best bet. I'd definitely recommend the Crowne plaza. Its a lovely hotel and probably the nicest in Dundalk. Food is great in it too.

Yea train station is right on Oriel's doorstep. Exit the train station turn right and Oriel's on the left hand side about 2-4 mins up the road.

Crowne plaza is a good stay.
I think there is a Taxi rank outside the trainstation so you won't have problems getting to the crowne plaza. Taxi men generally should be there when trains arrive

Hi Lads

I need a bit more help :
Is There a taxi rank outside or near Marshs' shopping centre.

If there is :

What would be the distance from Marshs' Shopping Centre to The Crowne
Plaza via taxi, and roughly how much is the fare ?

I think there is a taxi rank outside it.. Here are the numbers for a couple of taxi companys; they are usually cheaper than the metered taxis:

(042)9377777 (042)9355555

Inventively called Sevens and Fives taxis respectively.

That taxi trip is 4km (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=The+Marshes+Shopping+Centre+%4054.000934,-6.397005&daddr=Green+Park,+Dundalk,+Ireland+(Crowne+Plaza+D undalk)&hl=en&geocode=11246754766891881991,54.000934,-6.397005%3B866462437642638606,53.981329,-6.389236&mra=pe&mrcr=0&sll=53.713584,-6.303892&sspn=0.768857,1.757812&ie=UTF8&ll=53.990464,-6.3937&spn=0.023868,0.054932&z=14) and would cost about €7 I'd say.

Hi Lads.

I just got back into Waterford a short time ago.
I really enjoyed my brief stay in the North - East. I really enjoyed
the match, the only thing missing wwas the result.

I was very impressed with the Crowne Plaza, it was lovely.
Ye were all spot on with ye're directions and information.

All in all it was a great trip, and I would just like to thank all
the Dundalk fans who helped me out with sorting the trip out.
Ye're brilliant recommendations and ye're spot on directions
really made the trip easy.

Cheers Lads.
