I was thinking of making a simple banner or getting a nice one done up properly by a professional and I thought it would be interesting to have a thread with everyone contributing pictures of their flags and banners from all over the Eircom League.

Here's one. It isn't mine but I came up with the design, at least I think I did.

Who has the biggest flag in the league?

Who has the best? The wittiest?

It belongs to another lad. I'm sure he had it there ya. I couldn't make the game myself.

The Perverts Of Society one is a BSC flag, isnt it, although in its latest reincarnation they've removed "BSC" from it.

There was 20' flag in Terryland that had the words "Never Send A Boy On A Man's Job". I haven't seen it in a while. Perhaps there's a photo of it somewhere?

Also, Sandro Solinas, an Italian GUFC fan who runs an unofficial GUFC website gave me an Italian flag with a GUFC crest on it plus the words "FORZA RAGAZZI" on it. I have no idea what it means.

Forza Ragazzi is an Italian football chant. It basically means "come on lads!" afaik.
I've never seen that at match. Do you ever bring it?

Placing a Galway Utd FC crest within an Italian tricolour shows identity between the Italian Republic and the Football Club of Galway United.

The footballing phrase "Forza...." usually means 'Strength or Strength to'. The other word ".....Ragazzi" is the plural for 'boys'.

Was there any other clues as to the sexuality of the previous owner?

It literally means "force boys" but as I said it's a common chant in Italy.
The connection between GUFC and Italy in this case would be Sandro.

Your right, 'Come on lads' is an excellent translation of "Forza Ragazzi" because it's common in English and French " Allez!....".

Take care.

This photo shows the flag in 2004 during the home game vs Dundalk (3-3). Myself, my wife Monika and GUFC devoted fan Diego are on the back. The photo was taken by Trapattoni while Tardelli was busy running back up the pitch screaming in joy after United's goal in injury time.

A lot groups have some really nice two sticks they are becoming more original. The best I saw from our lads would be the grim reaper with Rovers till we die.

keep politics out of soccer. Che Guevara (the real one, I mean, not the marketing icon) is not a symbol to be proud of
