Shels 2-1 up, Freeman.

If Limerick take the lead, things couldn't be going better for us.

320 at Wateford. Official including season ticket holders according to RTÉ.

Nobody could figure that one in the press box. Has to just be the 'paid in' figure. I counted 253 in the new stand and there was more than that in the old one. Still pathetic though. :(

Livescore's Limerick scoreline caught out our stadium announcer too. :D

Grince's goal was an absolute belter, 30+ yard screamer of a volley into the top corner. A bit like Barry Wood's one at Dalymount a few years back. There were no cameras for that either.

Said on the Radio they where giving Offical figures at HT which was 320 and included Season Ticket Holders. More than likely a load of bull but they had to have got that figure from somewhere.

You counted 253 Poeple? Waterford arent that boring are they?

Not last night, they weren't! Nah didn't take all that long to count. Did a swift tally of the new stand on the far side in between Bermo's goal and half-time. Might have missed a couple but no more than that. Have been told various figures between 200 and 300 in the old stand too, so that would put the attendance at 450-550, and to be honest I'd now be inclined to go towards the lower end of that range. It's hard to get a proper idea of the crowd in the old stand from the press box at the back of it though.
The only thing the assembled hacks and reporters could come up with is that 320 people PAID IN. It would be far from the first time that figure has been given out as the official attendance this season.

Duffy had been sent off earlier for Dundalk but somehow I missed that! A real grudge match tonight.

Sarcasm?

It was a walk in the park for Dundalk, without us ever having to really try. The reason for so many cards was simple, the ref went on a little frenzy of giving out cards for about 15 minutes in the 2nd half. Hardly a contest, let alone a 'grudge match'. No doubt we will be held to a draw or we will lose in Gortakeegan in a few months time anyway!

Nice to say David Jeffrey speak so positively about our league. Think Felix had to grit his teeth while complimenting his result in Croatia. Some bad blood there back to his Coleraine days.

Good travelling support too for Pats on a sunday night. Should be a good game.

Crowd probably 4k. Not many teams get 3800 home supporters.

Stick fighting was on in Thurles so would have taken from the crowd a bit.

City well on top. Pats mainly hoofing forward for Harris (he is playing as forward) & Guy.

I might be biased but the pitch looks great & decent atmosphere. If all the Premier games looked like this would have no trouble attracting sponsirs.

I blame the bloody weather! We were wrecked after 20 minutes. Still, the event controller had to come over all embarrassed and tell us that Setanta had asked him to ask us to be a bit quieter! :D

That's mad altogether. :)

The game looked good on TV. Both teams tried to play nice, passing football (well, Pats in the 2nd half only) although the only REAL excitement was that series of chances in the final minutes.

The drums were the problem. They obviously had the mic in the wrong place

Didnt think it was a great game myself.

We're playing some nice stuff in midfield but missing a cutting edge. Badly missing Flynny.

We looked very tired in the last 20 mins and had absoltuely no one to bring off the bench

Not unless Bohs start slipping up its not.

If we beat Bohs in 2 weeks then maybe, otherwise, them and Pats will be fighting it out

The game looked well on Setanta I must say. Looked like a great crowd there aswell which was great to see on TV espeically when the Cork-Clare hurling game was on the same day. Pity there were no goals :)

Well Bohs have 2 games in hand but they are against Drogs and Rovers. 2 hard games for them. They could easily lose points in them 2 games. Also the way they played against us 2 weeks ago they will not be winning titles unless they change that

GavinZac
27/07/2008, 10:36 PM
Pity there were no goals :)Definitely. From a neutral's point of view I think a goal for either side just before half time would've made it a fantastic second half. As it was I think the football was decent, just a lack of firepower with Quigley and O'Flynn replaced with Jamie Harris (wtf?) and Denis Behan

0-0. Fair result. Cork slightly on top in first half, Pats finished much stroner. Both teams with chances in the last 5 minutes. Harris played upfront as no one elsewas fit enough to do it. Fitz has been struglling for two weeks and missed last week

We tired badly in the second half. We have an effective squad of 13 players (team that started plus O'Flynn & Lordan). Suspensions the only reason our team changes. Matthews won't play the experienced defensive players or the attacking kids from the bench. A lot of traveling to Finland & Sligo in the next week could cost us badly.

Looks like O'Flynn is on the way back which will be a huge boost.
