Yeah 2 great ideas to be honest...That should shorten the fixture list a whole lot...Maybe introduce the prem teams in the 3rd round or something..Thats 2 les games for each premier club which would make a huge difference in the fixtures.

should bring a bit of interest back to the competion,i think last years top 4 should get a bye to the quater finals and be seeded, the other 8 teams would then go into an open draw, with the 4 winners then drawn against the seeded teams, just a thought

yeah that sounds good, 4 first round games, 4 quarter finals, 2 semis and the final, thats 11 games, if they played 1 every Wednesday night in Jackman starting in January, it would bring it right up to Paddys weekend.

Great idea, and about time the LDMC used their brain.

Maybe they could do the same now with the Div 1A or Div 1B cup and play the games on Tuesday nights under lights also, thus minimizing the fixture pile up and freeing up refs for weekend games....

Great idea to have this under lights especially to solve the fixture conjestion that usually occurs on season end. They used to have the 'floodlit' cup on there years ago and that was a good success under lights.

Should be a good game...Pike's first real test in league or cup in about 2 months.....They've been blessed with their respective FAI and MJC draws playing lower league teams week in , week out and most of them were at home..

I don't know I think since this is now on under lights that its after giving this competition alot more interest. Players will want to play as many games in it as possible. Think Pike will want to win this one, anyway players coming in are as strong as what is playing in my opinion

oscar

Amazing a midweek game played for Pike to finish a suspension when Dunphy for Balla has been out five weeks and his suspension was up last Monday but still has to serve domestic suspension and Balla had no match last weekend.!! LDMC suspensions are absolutely riduculous Nabs got 3 matches from Munster Council and Dunphy got 4 weeks plus automatic match from LDMC for what I believe was a similar offence

He is which is a domestic game which is tonight in the Touhy which makes him eligible to play against Balla on Sun, Dunphys suspension up last Mon but has to serve domestic match this Sun as Balla had no game last week or any domestic game in 5 weeks.

pike team was

smackers
John Corbett
Phil Purcell
Pat Mullins
Pat McGarry
Owen Hanrahan
Dave O'Grady
Keith Hartnett
John Boyle
Pat maloney
Pat Barry

- Subs - Wayne O'Donovan, Eddie Brazier came on.

Pike dominated the game. Wembly took the lead with a long ball , flicked on and finished well (only real chance), hartnett from a free good goal
Penalties from both sides were really bad.
