Drogheda United have sacked their manager Harry McCue. The decision was taken by the United Board last night and comes after a run of four straight defeats and a lot of unrest amongst the fans.

In a statement on the club's official website, Drogheda said they will be making a shortlist of candidates for the managerial position over the coming days as a replacement is sought.

Drogheda United play Waterford United tomorrow night in O2 Park. The side are currently ninth in the League table on 19 points.

So, who's in line for the job?

Be few enough tears shed if he did.

Hmm, Roddy, the man who took a club from the play-offs to the championship, must be the frontrunner. A man who has managed cross-channel, won the double, a mouth bigger than Pat Dolan and a Northsider to boot.
Sure Drogs are only up the road, he's a banker I'd say !;)

Surely that should read to the play-offs and then the championship, with one of two full time teams in the league.
