Hello all,

Apologies if this has been done before, but id love to hear peoples opinions on the best current L.O.I. eleven and bench, regardless of age or nationality, purely based on the best players in the league at present. And also if any first division players would make it onto the team.

I only get to watch Limerick a handfull of times each season as I live in England, but I watch what I can on Setanta, but I wouldnt know enough to post an 11 of my own.

Over to you all, and thanks.

Right now, I'd pick something like this:

GK: Barry Ryan

LB: Danny Murphy
RB: Brian Shelley
CB: Jason Gavin
CB: Peter Hutton

RM: Shane Robinson
LM: Killian Brennan
CM: Keith Fahey
CM: Stephen O'Donnell

ST: Mark Quigley
ST: Dave Mooney

No surprise that they all play for the top five clubs and are all full-time.

Cant believe so many people have Brennan in their team. Yeah he scores a good few, mostly from set plays, but other than that he never goes into a tackle and if someone goes to tackle him he'l slow down to avoid it.

More worried about breaking a nail than playing football most of the time.

Heary(Bohs) Murray (Cork) Gavin (Drogs) D.Murphy (Cork)

Robinson (Drogs) Healy (Cork) Fahey (Pats) Morrison(Derry)

Mooney (Cork) Fenn (Bohs)

Minor adjustments to Niall sparkys with Murray narrowly beating Shelley and dirty Oman.
Do I have Morrison on the correct side?

If Danny Murphy can put out a performance like tonight in Europe then i think some people will have to scratch him from their lists.

Brutal stuff, unless he put some money down on it? Actually if that was the case then he did well, really well .... but it got foiled by the team actually caring in the second half, unexpected i suppose but it still scuppered his plans.

Have we got options other than Danny Murphy?

How can you have Fenn there over Quigley? You cannot be serious?

Dont get me wrong, Fenn is a great player and if you can slot him in to a certain role then he does a great job but they guy cannot run for a bus, really poor.

Who would this eLOI 11 be playing, or who would we hope to beat?

People should be realistic, maybe not pick people from your own club and we'd get a better idea.

I thought he got MOTM??? On the CCFC Forum they said he was useless in the 1st half but said he was outstanding in the 2nd half and that he fully deserved his MOTM.

Sums it up really. Wouldnt have been my MOTM but most players were poor in the first half. He was excellent in the second and killed them down the left

Ok we'll do it this way .... the most points win [lose in this context because its unacceptable]

Give Haka 2 goals = 2 points*

Assist in two goals [do the job you are paid and should feel obligated to do] = 1 point (they are assists so 0.5 each, is that fair?)

4 - 1 = 3
________

3 points that should never be forgotten, ever.

* Haka goals are worth 2 each because they are away goals

MOTM .... you are havin' a larf aint'cha !!!

Calm down there Face!
Away goals do not count double, generally, Cockney did get MOTM and . . . . . . . .
Fenn = the perfect foil for Mooney.

Spot on. A dancing nancy if there ever was one. His replacement - Morrison is a far superior player. However, Niall McGinn on the other wing is proving to be our star performer lately.

Fenn is the main reason we are top of the league (well pretty much top). He has easily been our best player this season and has created everything. True he is slow but he more than makes up for it. If he had pace he'd be playing with a top championship side in England I reckon.

Better players technically, but Kearney has been the better player this season. Most consistent performer.

And you've left out Healy who is better than 2 you named, and Murray who is probably our most important player

You've gotten the two mixed up there I think.

Anyway, fact being, take Murray out of our team and we would collapse. Other than maybe Mooney at the moment the same cant really be said for anyone else. Sure we'd badly miss them but not to the extent we'd miss Dan.
