View Full Version : Knappagh red syndicate
Knappagh Red

Just back from the meeting, basically the club needs 130,000 euro before the end of August to function at its current level, they have organised a syndicate. Each syndicate card costs 1000 euro and is made up of 20 names at 50 euro a head.
Each syndicate card is entered into a draw for two corporate box tickets for Anfield, flights, accommodation and transfers, draw to take place on Sunday 3rd of August.
The heading on the card is "Keep Premier League Football Alive in Sligo"
This seems to be a last roll of the dice for the club. I think we should try and fill a card from this forum. I'll organise it if there is the interest.

Knappagh Red would it not be an idea to open up a pay pal account where we could transfer the funds to you and also anybody who is away from Sligo could also donate towards it.

Very good idea. Paypal is very handy for things like this.
Put me down too.

Paypal is useless when you are recieving money, they take like 10%.
Im sure there is an Irish Website for pledges that will not take any money from you.

In my experience, they only take a cut if you withdraw less than 100e. With the sums we're talking about, it should be ok.

But when each person is transferring the money to knappagh's account you are only putting in 50, so they will take a % of that.
Its happened to me when i have sold stuff on eBay..

If there is a member of the trust involved can we not do it through the reception desk in The Glasshouse?

I am in the trust avvenalaf, I was thinking of a venue like that in town but for the exiles I'm sure they could just write a cheque for 50 euro made out to the club and post it to the club and Keith or someone in the office can look after an exiles syndicate. I'm around town every evening and will organise it if people on here want to go on the card I have. My phone number is 0872181399.

What about using the pledge bank @ http://www.pledgebank.com/, the My Football Club FC recently used it to bring in 20 pounds from 1,000 members for the playing budget.

This is the 21st century lads. Get with the times. Transferring money electronically is dead easy.
At the very least, can a bank transfer be arranged? Knappagh Red can PM account details (IBAN, sort code) to whoever requests it, and money can be transferred in.

Lads what the Trust is trying, or will be soon, to do is to aim and get 1,000 fans from wherver they live in Ireland or the world to donate a minimum of €2 a week direct debit to a trust account.ALL money will be used to assist the club. Now this may be for paying a years travel expences, pre seaon expences whatever we can do to take a bill away from the club so it will free up resources for the club.
This is a very small amount to pay and does not excluyde any fans by asking for €100s of Euros.Works out at about 28cent a day.Be very surprised if we cannot achieve this.
If this target is reached the supporters will directly contribute €2000 a week,€8000 a month and a total of €96,000 a year.
Each contributor will become a TRUST member automatically.
This would almost cover the 200 extra fans we need to break even each week, so we were told, does not exclude anyone finacially who simply could not afford the 400 club or other big money schemes
Supporetrs would have total cotrol over their finances, they could even become shirt sponsors whatever they want to do.
And if any one is has any worries about the money, the Trusst accounts are audited every year and MUST pass ICOS regulations, cheques are co-signed by 2 signatures and we never pay Cash as it is not traceable.
I am working on the details so please when it starts up, if supporetrs are interested, try your best to suppport it

i believe that there is a huge oppurtunity here to source funds from people who are living abroad who want to assist rvers in their current financial crisis.
i believe that some sort of account should be set up where payment can be made electronicly. i myself am not a techie geek but somebody mentioned paypal in a previous post. apparently there is a fee charged for transactions but at least it would open the door for people who want to contribute. as long as we are getting funds in that is all that matters in the current climate. we have 4 weeks to do this and one chance. if there is anybody technically astute in the supporters trust who can set this up it could be a runner or anybody else for that matter. it could be set up on the rovers oficial website. any takers on this idea?

Alan put this to us last week at BORST meeting, i think its a fansatic idea, even if some people want to give a fiver it it could earn us 2,000+ a week which will probably go towards travel etc. The main idea behind this from what ive gathered is that every cent goes towards SRFC eventually.
