Mick McCarthy has been released. Robert Byrne was actually only registered last week or the week before, he couldn't officially sign until then. He's signed until the end of the season. It remains to be seen if he gets any games, he'd be third choice keeper.

I think he's a forward not a defender as the article says, unless that's a different guy than the lad who was at the Wexford game. Don't think it is though.

A little info on him, He is a defender, he last played in the Spanish 5th Tier with UD Arenal in which they gained promation to the 4th Tier. He is also 21 years old.

tell me longfordian why did mcnicholas and kelch go ? that was kept very quiet by the club.. they could do with badly updatin da squad pictures in the match program as they are hugely out of date..:(

Well McNicholas never really came, so to speak. He was actually carrying an injury when he arrived for pre-season and kept quiet about it. He and Aaron came to the arrangement that we'd take him on when he was fully fit, and he deserves credit for not demanding that we pay him every week while injured as he could possibly have done. I've heard no more since. Kelch, I don't really know what happened there, I assume he left once he wasn't getting regular football. I don't know when exactly he went, in fact I'm only 99% sure he's gone, maybe he's hiding out somewhere!. Yeah, the photos are a bit out, might be worth getting them done again for the rest of the season.
