Started here in the states last night. Seven part mini-series about a unit of the marines, during the first forty days of the Iraq invasion. Very intense and realistic.

From the Creator of the wire, so it should a pretty good series.

Generation Kill (http://www.hbo.com/generationkill/)

Has a 'Band Of Brothers' feel about it.

HBO is a cable channel and can get away with a lot more than mainstream tv in the states.

Mainstream tv over there is very very strict, name the last time you heard someome swear on csi or lost ???? or graphic voilence ??? or sex scenes ???

Compare sex talk NBC or CBS to HBO ??????

I hope to download Generation Kill over the weekend !!!

Anybody watching this on the FX Channel?

David Simon (creator of the Wire) is back with another quality show and thank God for that after the disappointments of Lost and Heroes. Based on a book of the same name by a Rolling Stone journalist who covered the invasion of Iraq by accompanying a Special US Marine Corps.....I'm currently reading the book and they've done a brilliant job.

If you enjoyed the Wire your bound to enjoy this. Worth a watch on DVD once this series finishes on FX (will be appearing on British terrestrial tv later on in the year).

Good stuff alright, gritty and a bit confusing at times, which seems to add even more of a touch of realism to it!
