I still rate him. He's better than Rogers IMO. Probably not better than Rouse.

A player of his experience would be an asset to any club and woulb be a great help to young players

You obviously haven't seen a Bray match in a while.... He's been our best player by far! Absolutely delighted we signed him.
Nicky and his whole family are and always have been massive Drogheda United fans (his father used be involved in the club from time to time too)
I'd say he's well settled in England now though!

People always come out with this rubbish when a famous Irish player is possibly about to move home. When was the last time Colgan went to a game? 1980?

This rubbish?? F*** off will ye
Since moving to England he's obviously been to less and less matches over the years. Just like other die hard exiles I know who've moved across the water over the years (including a couple of that post on here!). I know he still keeps a keen interest in the club from talking to him a couple of years ago.
He and his family supported the club throught the s*** over the years. They're a well known Drogheda United supporting family especially his aul lad who has since passed away after which there was a minutes silence in united park (I even rememeber his aul lad doing physio the odd time when we were stuck :D)

Good signing for Cork in my opinion, Devine has been going downhill for last season & a half & needs to be replaced.
Colgan would still be Lge 1 standard in England which which would only put him behind Brian Murphy probably of the LOI keepers

Is there any point in replacing one aging keeper with an older one?

I never really rated him when he played for Derry but in fairness I only saw him play the last 10 or so matches of his final season.
He admirably resisted the call from the Brandywell crowd for a wave with a few minutes to play at the end of last night's game though. ;)

although cosmo is 100% correct about the colgans being big drogs fans i dont think this means anything.he probably isnt needed at drogheda so he'll go wherever pays his wages and good luck to him. hes a good keeper and a sound lad, an asset to any club.
btw. good to see big Dave get a mention (his dad). he used to coach me and drive us in the van all over the country to see the drogs. when he wasnt doin that he was bringing ian harte and gary kelly to trials all over the country.he was a major factor in any Ollies kids supporting the drogs and i owe my dedication to DUFC to Dave. RIP
ps. sammy is a drog 4 life too right.hands off:D
