setanta.com Articles on both:

People who have spent forever knocking Mick might do well reading this (http://www.setanta.com/soccer/story.jsp?story=WCContent;id-33267).

Mediocre Dutch (http://www.setanta.com/soccer/story.jsp?story=WCContent;id-33270)

Mick should have had an L plate hanging around his neck for the first 4 years in charge. He was too inexperienced & was learning his trade as he went along. We all remember the crazy player positions & tactics from those days?

The final lesson Mick needs to learn is when we are leading not to pack the team with defenders (except when down to 10 men like saturday) as WE CANNOT HOLD ONTO A LEAD like that. e.g. Holland away, Portugal home, Turkey home in playoff, Belgium home playoff, Croatia away..... If he learns that before next summer (hopefully as we prepare for WC) the team has a chance of doing well.

And like the article says,

he needs to give Gary Doherty a chance...
if he continues his good form with Spurs, there's no doubt he'll be our heart of defense for the world cup.

Maybe Fergie will give O'Shea a run now that Stam is gone. If Blanc is knackered with all the midweek games and Johnsen is injured, he doesn't have much left over at the moment.
