i like it NOTL, definitely heading in the right direction
if i was to have a criticism (intended to be constructive)
i'd incorporate some green into it, and i'd lose the word established (it'd be a b!tch to embroider:) )

Keep the Crest as it is.
the idea of the star above the new crest_ as far as I know City have not won ten league championships or the World Cup so why do we get a star??

another idea, again excuse the ruffness (paint isnt exactly good you know) just the concept really. same thing differnet colour schemes?? any thoughts??

Could have sworn i tried that before but there ya go tis working now...
Not a bad effort at all. I think part of the problem with the current crest is has no backing (i.e. like a shield or something...)
