View Full Version : Roddy sacked
OFFICIAL STATEMENT
The Board of Carlisle United Football Club confirm that Roddy Collins’ role as manager of the Club has been terminated as of today (August 29th 2003)
The decision has been very difficult and we respect the effort and time Roddy Collins put in to the Club.
Circumstances prevailed against him and the necessary results to take this Club forward were not forthcoming.
We wish Roddy Collins well in any future ventures and hope his career goes on to improve from here.
Paul Simpson will take control of the team against Cambridge United tomorrow in a Caretaker capacity and we will make a final decision on the managers position in the near future.

it was only a matter of time, despite his protestations he did nothing at the club, they're as badly (if not worse) off as they were when he (and the money from Courtenay) arrived.
i wonder what's next for him?

Well,he tried and in very difficult circumstances as well.Lets face it,Carlisle were a botton 3-4 team before Collins came along and has left them the way he found them.
Maybe a job awaits him back home

He did manage to get them up to 16th or so two seasons ago before walking out in protest at Knighton (or getting sacked by Knighton for his attitude towards him, not sure which). Ever since they got promoted from Division Three a few years back, they've had a relegation battle, so 16th was a respectable enough achievement.

I have an awful feeling this will happen (especially after we beat them tomorrow  ) despite what happened at Carlisle he's a proven eL manager and would do very well at the scum. He is a Bohs man through and through but he is still very bitter at the manner of his dismissal so he would take the scum job if offered it. Lets hope it doesn't happen
BUCKLEY MUST STAY!!!!
