I see that the newly split-off sister site of The Irish Times, ireland.com, is advertising on foot.ie and other Irish football sites (including bohemians.ie).

It's nice, if a bit unusual, to see them doing their bit to support Irish football, albeit indirectly, and despite the ad being just a teensy bit misleading, as it touts Irish football coverage, but in fact links to the regular 'cross-channel' transfer yawnfest and to sport generally.

Here's how it reads: 'League of Ireland tables. All info on the Irish League and teams that compete each other.'

Maybe ad meant for read by foreign audience? Or maybe Times rugby boys just think all LoI support illiterate? Or maybe not like us they know AIL things happen not too long? (http://foot.ie/showthread.php?t=95746)?

They're all google ads, so the IT doesn't really have a say in where they go

Agreed, its still the league of ireland no matter where you read it. Its shoddy work from the times.
