Rovers finished 0-0 at home to Cobh. Scully booed of and chants of 'you don't know what you're doing'. Wouldn't be surprised to see him throw the toys out of the pram and quit. In fairness playing a minimum of 6 defenders in every game was never going to keep the fans happy for long.
Full time 3-2 in Cork.:D:D:D
Can anybody tell me how Cobh played tonight, were they any good or were Rovers shocking??

Fingal won 4-0 in the end. Robbie Doyle picked up yet another penalty score. Morrisroe made a good sub debut helping directly in two of the goals.

Are you sure they weren't singing it at the Ref?
Not according to the Shamrock Rovers Ultras message board. Wasn't there myself so can't say for sure. According to posters there it looks like Scully has totally lost the dressing room, players not even acknowledging him shouting instructions and Stephen Rice sitting in the directors box. Also a host of ex League of Ireland managers in the crowd. His position is starting to become untenable, the question is will he walk or look for a pay off?

Galways first goal was a peach and to be fair they were the better of two poor teams in the first as both struggled to contend with the poor conditions. Players couldn't even turn at times, brutal stuff.
Rain held off for lots of the first half, through half time and first bit of the second. After the first goal went in for City i knew we'd do it, although some of the chances missed were shocking.
Great atmosphere for a very poor crowd, coming back like that the crowd was hopping playing into the shed. Great stuff and well worth the €15. If we had games like that every week i'd be a happy camper, although not with the same conditions.
Can anybody tell me how Cobh played tonight, were they any good or were Rovers shocking??
Sweet baby jesus and the orphans.
Cobh probably had the best chance of the game and were comfortable. Cobh had conceded 12 goals in three games including 7 at home. Rovers had one chance that hit the bar in the first half.
Mind you, playing six defenders and a keeper in the 11 handicaps attacking options a bit.

Easy to see why Drogheda aren't at the races this season. Clearly better than us man for man, but just very lethargic and overall poor really. Hard to pin point it, but barring a ten minute spell where they tore us apart (starting with their equaliser), there wasn't a huge amount to choose between the teams; Drogs had more of the play, but did as little with it as we did. The winning penalty was bizarre - no appeal from anyone in the crowd or on the pitch; it genuinely took the Drogs fans five to ten seconds to realise they'd been given a penalty. Radio guessed handball, but called it "bizarre". Very very annoying to lose a point in such circumstances.
Poor crowd for the league champions too; only about 1200 I'd say.

As a UCD fan I doubt you ever really see teams at full pace. City were laid back half way to horizontal last week.
But we're not chasing Cobh we're chasing whoever is 4th bottom and that is UCD, gap remians at 6 points(as results stand), Drogs seemed unlucky in the first half, a misunderstanding gifted UCD there goal, hopefully they get the finger out in the second half and play like champions.... two goals Drogs come on!!
Finn Harps are 4th from bottom if you checked.

Rubbish. City were the best team from 1st minute to 90. At no time did I think Galway were in control.
There 1st was a complete fluke. He was standing up a cross to the back post, where it managed to sneak in.
The second was well taken. But Pat Sullivan was caught cold and Devine was caught in no mans land. Great finish all the same.
I thought for a while it might be one of those nights. Ref was giving us nothing and we were unable to convert posession and chances. But once Mooney got the first, the doubt was in the Galway minds and I thought we could do it alright.
playing 11 handicaps

No arguments about the result, but it was never a penalty. Paul Caffery was outstanding for you. Some of the bookings were unbelievable.

Poor crowd for the league champions too; only about 1200 I'd say.We usually get a few away fans to bump the attendance up. if you guys hadn't beem there we would have only had 1195.

Read what i said, the first half was brutal and you couldn't say either team controlled it. I said it was down to the conditions.

The two goals from them were identical, as were 6-7 attacks they made in the first all through Sullivan being turned, out played. We did have have some chances but Galway looked better in the final third.

The ref was so so bad last night it was unreal. We were just laughing at some of the decisions in the end. Chronic stuff all throughout the game.

Yes I did read what you said. You said Galway were the better of the two teams in the first half which I said was rubbish.

Clearly you were at a different game to me. 6-7 Galway chances?? Unless you're calling "getting into the opposition half" as a chance??
As for the 2 goals being identical?? The first was closer in, and at a tighter angle. It was meant as a cross.
The ref was so so bad last night it was unreal. We were just laughing at some of the decisions in the end. Chronic stuff all throughout the game.
Yes he was bad. Gamble and Kearneys yellows were brutal. And I dont think you can appeal yellows. Ridiculous. Joeys was definitely a reputation booking.
Awful weather at the RSC ruined the game but both teams tried their best despite the torrential rain and wind. A draw was a fair result.Waterford changed their kit from blue to white at half time.
If drogs had lost this one, they would have been on target for the worst defence of the lge title since us in 1996
Thanks for your concern .But youve got more to worry about than your neighbours defense of the leauge title .How many seasons will it be next season for you in the graveyard ? 8 maybe ?

God, anyone you would think you're over sensitive about the fact that you're muck this season and that the team that won you the league is fast, falling apart.

Looks like they won't have their glamour tie with Hibs either. They lost 2-0 at home against Elfsborg.

FT now - lost 1-0.
From the sounds of it they could easily turn it around in the second leg but without Hibs in the next round maybe they'd prefer not to have to call off another 2 league matches.

What the hell does that mean?? There in the intertoto to qualify for the UEFA cup, not to get a "glamour" tie against scottish nobodies.

Finn Harps seem to have raided Billy Smart's Circus for their troupe of clowns to fill in for the defense judging by the commentary for the second Pats goal

Harps were shocking, obviously loss of Boyle was a big blow. Pats could easily have had another 3 - how Fitzpatrick missed from that 1-on-1 I'll never know.
Building into a tasty title chase, Cork on the move as well.

Not saying you weren't well deserved winners, but I wouldn't put too much faith in those RTE reports for Div 1; they are usually compiled by an official from one side or the other and so aren't always objective.
