I was talking to Chris Butler and Sean Doherty up in colloney on monday, Chrissy said he should more than likely be able to play on saturday. But yeah if we play the way did against derry earlier this season we could get a win i'd go for a 1-0 win myself Boco to score.

I reckon we'll either win or draw. Derry's result on Tuesday was a bit of a freak. They used up all their goals for July with that win. They don't have enough to beat us, but whether we win or not depends on whether we take our chances or not.

Very quiet in regards to this game, hopefully we get a good turn out for the game. I think we may get a result in this with the way Boco played last week in Cobh. Going for a 2-1 win.

Rovers to win 2-1.

Anto Murphy from 25 yards and Mauro will head home from a set piece.

You should really think about getting a summer job with RTE because every week you seem to be talking to rovers players about up coming games..why not get paid for it too?

1-1 i think

Very good match could have easily won by 2 or 3. Boco had a very good game throughout. Brush made a great save in the last 10 minutes to keep it at 0-0 he also got MOTM. Was VERY dissapointed with Judge's performance tonight never really challenged for the ball and gave it away very easily. Also seen some improvment in Doherty and Ventre. Does anyone know what happened Seamie Coleman ? hopefully the injury dosent keep him out for long. Also a very good attendance anyone know how many people were at it ?

good game we could have one 6-0 if boco scored all the one on ones he had.some great saves frrom brushie, fair play to chrissy and almada who you could see they were carrying knocks.connor had a good game he marked martyn out of the game and in the end he went full back.

Thought it was actually a decent game, should have won amazing how we did not but excellent save by Brush then at the end. Good crowd and good away support.

One of the most exciting games I've seen in a while. Spectacular save from Brushie. How Boco didn't put away one of those opportunities is a mystery, he looked a little nervous when he had to pull the trigger. His work rate was phenomenal, he did very well to keep finding the space to run into. His backtracking and covering was first class he has great fitness.

If Murphy goes to Bohs he will be a bigger loss than Faz. All round good performance.

Danny Ventre must be commended for his game, put in some hugely important tackles. Great to see him bounce back after the stinker he had against UCD.

A great football match. Boco really, REALLY should have scored with one of his chances, but his overall workrate can't be faulted.
One thing that frustrated me was the number of high balls played up that either Murphy or Boco were supposed to win against Clive Delaney. Now, that man is probably the tallest centre-half in the league, he has at least 6 inches on Murphy (who isn't a short man), and he predictably won everything in the air. Yet the high balls kept coming, even though he couldn't handle the pace of Boco on the ground.

Overall, it was a highly enjoyable game between two fully committed teams, which will barely generate 2 paragraphs in the national press. I can't fault any of the players for effort, even Judge (he's just gone to **** for whatever reason)
Credit to the Derry fans as well, there must have been 300 of them, and they were singing all game. A real credit to their team.

its 10.30 sunday morning and i'm still excited about what i saw last night. both teams have to be highly commended for a great game of football. i rate this game as one of the best i have ever seen at the old venue. of course boco should have scored but his workrate was phenominal. when he went between the two full backs at one stage in the second half (and they were within 3 ft of each other i thought it was wonderful play. if he can learn to be a bit more confident when he pulls the trigger he is going to be a great player. overall the team played excellent. the defence wre magnificent the midfield were the same only judgie seem to be off the pace. i'm not here to critisise players but it wuld be a real shame if we are to lose any more due to the financial state of the club because i do believe if we can hold onto what we have for next year we can do really well. doherty is getting his confidence back and has a lot to offer. the back four well what can we say the best we have had in a long long time. brush is a v. good keeper. we must do our utmost to hold onto cook and carr and the players. i believe the club are goint to run a syndicate so if so let everybody support it. it now seems to be reall y our only hope. we as supporters have the choice to either keep these players or not. if we make a huge effort we can do it. there was a scout at the match last night watching seamie but what i was told after the game he was hugely impressed with the standard of play and atmosphere and quality of players on show. i firmly believe that if boco can improve his finishing he will be a real asset to the club both as a player nad if we can hold onto him he will be worth a good few bob. i understand he is the top paid player at the club but i would see him more as an investment for the future. anybody know what is the duration of his contract?

I think he's on a two year contract signed at the start of the season.

An absolute cracking game.

Poor old Boco will have been dreaming of those misses last night. I think his problem was that on each occasion he just hit the ball as hard as he could and hoped for the best, instead of picking a spot and fininshing (easier said than done I know!). I think he felt really disappointed at the end of the game but he should be reminded that his work rate and pace really caused Derry problems and other players would not have created those chances.

I think all players deserve credit for their part in a great game.

It was a fantastic match with Rovers at long last playing the type of football we all know they are capable of and they played it for almost the entire ninety minutes. Boco had undoubtedly a brilliant game and his work rate was incredible BUT he should have scored. A bit of composure was all that was needed as all those one-on-ones just required a low side-footed pass into the net - Yes I know that’s easy to say sitting in the stand but he blasted every effort straight at the 'keeper and at the right height for him to make the save, nevertheless he is without doubt a quality footballer.

The entire team played well and I can understand why Brush got MOTM but for me the outstanding player on the pitch was Peers. He did not put a foot wrong the entire match and saved us on a number of occasions especially late in the match when he headed the ball off the line, much to the astonishment of Stephen Kenny who was sure Derry had scored. He's already my player of the season.

IMO peers is one of the most underrated players in the league.Apart from a shaky performance in the 3-2 win over shams this season,I can't remember him having a bad game under Paul Cook.Without doubt He's one of our best players and definitely the most consistent.

have to agree about peersy. he's solid as a rock, works his balls off and leads by example. never has a bad game. he was my player of the season last year and i'm surprised there isn't more interest in him from the rich clubs. hopefully he'll be here for years to come

Was Peers not appointed captain this season? I seem to remember that being announced, yet it's usually O'Grady who leads the team out.

Some great football played by both teams on Saturday night, helped somewhat by the huge improvement of the playing surface. Credit to the new grounds staff. Players were able to get their heads up and pick out passes rather than worrying about the ball bobleing
