Is it just Harps or does this season seem to be mental with regards injuries?

We get one player back and another 3 go out injured, its crazy, personally i have never witnessed the likes of it before.
Has any other club got the same problems?

For friday night coming we will have:
Minnock - long term injury
Beckett - waster aka sicknote
Mukendi
C. Gallagher
Labonte and possibily Parkhouse out injured, we also had Mickey Funston go off injured in the match last night (hopefully just cramp but knowing our luck........)

we will also be missing, Williams, Holmes and Malcom through suspension and club captain Tony Sheilds is also out of the picture through another reason.

Is it harder pitches? The physios fault? The players fault? or is it players are too soft now?

I seem to remember UCD, Cobh, Derry and possibily Rovers fans complain about injuries too, I just said id see if any other club has this kind of experience.

We've actually been fairly lucky injury wise this season so far. Even John O Flynn is playing a lot of games(Ive just jinxed it haven't I).

I dunno if it comes down to better training this season, fitness trainer etc, or just luck

Our fitness/coaching staff is the exact same as last season but we have now gone full time. I wonder does the extra trining play a part in he injuries?

And yes, yes you have jinxed O'Flynn :D

As we have a small squad we are very vunerable when we suffer injuries. However, while a club may want to recognise who is available and who is not, it still needs to get on with the job imo.

Paul Byrne, striker, is a long-term injury concerrn at the moment.
Derek Doyle an influencial winger only came back at the beginning of the season after a long time away ( broken leg I think). We had some revolving absentees recently, but size of squad and lack of quality players in paticular positions is our own concern. The workrate of our forwards is quite high.

I did see the Aertel preview of the Finn Harps game and it looked a lost cause for Harps just reading it, so many players unavailable while Bohs had a quality list returning to their squad.

Mauro Almeida was out for a couple pf hames but apart from that we have had no injuries. We've been very lucky as we have a very small squad.Had we as man injuries as harps we might be down that end of the table too.Although we have had a lot of suspensions this season.

So far this season we have only had the full squad available for selection on one occasion and that was aginst Finn Harps in the cup.

The balance of our squad means that if any of the senior players get injured they are replaced with lads coming straight from the Under 17 or 20 squads

It is just our luck now that when we get everyone fit on the field David O'Dowd had a work accident resulting in him severing 3 tendons in his arm and he is expected to be out for 8 weeks minimum.

Lucky Athlone!!!!On a serious note do part time clubs have to pay a player in a situation like this whe a player gets injured outside of football therfore making himself unavailable for training and matches?

Any club should fullfil the contract towards the individual. His other employment and social laws in the juristrition should further compensate the player.

In the recent past Managers have had to go to the HIgh Court to recieve appropiate compensation because the eircom League club sacked the manager in an inappropiate manner. The manager got heavily compensated for unfair dismissal in 2007.

Last week we had the following layers injured

Joe O'Cearuill, David Patridge, Stephen Paisley, Jamie Harris, Joe Ndo, Michael Keane

The first four started the season as our defence. Our centre halves were 19 year old Noel haverty and Dessie Byrne

They'd have some kind of insurance to cover this sort of thing I 'd say.
