No excuse for not being able to field 11 players. I'd have driven the bus through the town and asked some young fellas if they wanted to play sooner than field 10 men!

I think what happened was that the change of date for the fixture caused havoc for Rovers. It was down for the Sunday from the start of the ‘A’ team season but informed on Thursday afternoon that the game had been changed to the Saturday. So they had to try to get the squad together in a short space of time and with work commitments of the players it proved difficult. They thought they had more than 11 players but three of them didn’t show up for the bus ( that is why it was late) and I understand they have been dealt with accordingly. Very disappointing to have the game changed at such short notice, I think the players did well when you consider the circumstances.

Well according to Sligo Rovers website, the A Team's next game is against Drogheda on the 10th August.
There's no mention of the game in this weeks Champion-new date or old date.
If the club cant be bothered to promote the game(it is a home game),it is very hard for the players to be too enthaustic about it.
Also according to the site,we're still playing St.Pats tomorrow night.
