Does anyone know Waterfords previous grounds? And what years were they playing there?

I'm sure you'll get a better answer soon.
AFAIK it was Kilcohan Park from 1930 all the time until moving to the RSC - was that in 1994? It was around then anyway.
Waterford left the league from 1941-1945.

According to this I was a year out - they say 1993

Probably right too as I first went there - I think New Years Day 1995 - certainly Limerick's 1st game there which was after Christmas 1994.
However we were in different divisions in 93/4. Waterford were relegated in 1993 after a playoff v Monaghan. We went down in 1994 and haven't been back since.
I also googled Kilcohan Park and it has been hosting Greyhound Racing since 1938. Now Waterford joined the league in 1930 so maybe they had a different venue in the early years but I cannot recall ever hearing of one. Of course it is possible that football was played there longer than Greyhound Racing.

Was there some other ground used as well called Ozzier Park (or something like that?)
Ozier Park is used by junior clubs. I don't think WU ever used it as a home venue.
And is the home of the Waterford Junior League.
Waterford United reserve teams and U-21 teams played there quite a bit, perhaps that's what face was thinking of.

Seems to have been redeveloped and still in use. Just google it and see some pics.
Yep, it got redeveloped, along with a lot of the other tracks around the country.
They have regular meetings there alright.
A lot of redevelopment was done in the last few years, and the couple of times I've been out there in recent times, to my bleary eyes that includes the track, expanded or re-layed in such a way as has made the space inside too narrow for a pitch now. Interested to see if that's just me or if anyone else thinks that too.
So no, no team plays there now and I think none ever will if the above is right. :)

Didn't we use it for a short while, maybe while the RSC wasn't ready? I can certainly remember seeing a couple of games there, think Shamie Coad was manager at the time.

Thats what i was thinking too, maybe not even for a full season but i had always thought it was for a couple of games.
Can anyone shine any light on this? When was Shamie Coad the manager?

At the risk of sounding like Dicklong, we used Ozier for one league game in the 1990/91 season, just before relegation, in a game against Bohemians. I wasn't at it, but I have seen it reported in a couple of places, not least the excellent old League Annuals done up by the two Cork lads around the time.
I think our first competitive game in the RSC was a Shield match against UCD in autumn 1993. If I recall correctly, Paul Flynn, later to play for the hurlers, was in goal that day. The RSC was a very bleak place for a very long time, the stand only went up in 1997 (I think).

Just stumbled across this thread... according to my records they played at Ballinaneesagh prior to Kilcohan Pk. Moved during 1930-31 season.
