As a club who is so heavily in debt why do you decide to play Harps (one of the few clubs in the 1st div with a decent away support) on a Thursday night when a Saturday or a Sunday game would make much more sense??
As someone who travels to a lot of Harps games it doesn't bother me when it's on but the idea of travelling to Limerick on a Thursday night won't sound too appealing to a lot of people.

... beacause a certain small section of the committee believes that we will get more revenue on Thursday. I know how ridiculous this sounds but it's true. We were told that it was to chage months ago, but unfortunately we were lied to. Sorry about it but hopefully you will be able to make it.

Because and I quote "People go away at the weekends..."
Or in simple English, for no good reason!

I think that was an instruction - not an excuse. :)

I was talking to someone in the committee the other day and i asked him about this. Harps were asked earlier in the season to change the Limerick game (their home game) to a weekend and didn't. Some time ago the harps ppl got in touch with Limerick and asked about switching the game to a Sat night, but he would check first if this was what the Harps team/board etc wanted. He had to get back to Limerick on this one. He didnt....untill last week or so, so when asked why he didnt get back to us he replied " ahhh shur i had to go on holidays." so its the harps guys lack of urgency is why the harps fans are disgruntled. Now listen i belive we should be playing On Friday nights so thats my two cent.
