A few United players could be playing in WC qualifiers tonight.

Banana could be in goal for Barbados against the USA. Wes should be playing for St Vincent against Canada and Regi could be playing for Haiti against Netherlands Antillies who made an appearance in a World Cup in France!

If you're talking about the Dutch East Indies, that represented what is now Indonesia.

Actually you're right!

I just assumed it was the same place - though I guess the Dutch Antilles are West Indies.

Did Dublin City ever have any internationals?

Not that I recall, a few like Chris Deans won Under-21 caps after leaving. Obviously a couple of former European Championships and World Cup players appeared for the club but the less said about them the better. Alan Mulcahy played for the Irish colleges team at the student games whilst at DC.

Alvin is in goals for Barbados but its not looking good. 5-0 to USA at the mo. Poor Alvin!

His mate Barry Skeete who was also at Mons for a short spell last year is on the bench for Barbados.

According to that the two teams areplaying again on Sunday. Does that mean we will have no keeper on the bench on Friday?

In a word Yes.

The joys of having a player with International duties to perform!

Delighted that Alvin did well. He is a good (banana) skin.
