Paddy that is.......http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11706_3682557,00.html

Good move for him IMO, talented squad and should be challenging for automatic promotion this season

Is it a move up the ladder or just a sideways step?

Palace were very much on an upwards trajectory in the second half of last season under Colin W*nker whereas Charlton seemed to struggle, so it is an upwards move if anything.

CRYSTAL Palace new boy Paddy McCarthy is hoping his £500,000 move from Charlton will see him break back into the Republic of Ireland set-up.

“I’m an old-fashioned defender who gives 100 per cent every week and will put my head where it hurts - hopefully the boss, supporters and people at the club will like that.

Well he along with St Ledger deserve a chance, a head of the awful McShane and Bruce.

Who does the scouting for Ireland? as clearly they aren't doing their jobs!

Paddy McCarthy is possibly worse than McShane. I wouldn't be championing his cause just yet.

At least he has played regular 1st team football this season, unlike McShane who is being picked on the back of a fabled reputation!
