i have been close to fans who have criticised fazs work rate at the last two games v shams and ucd. on both occasions he has told the fans quite clearly to fu*k off and i dont think this is acceptable.
if the fans concerned pay their money they are entitled to their opinion in my view and a player is wrong to get involved in verbals with them.
i have a lot of respect for faz as a footballer but have lost a lot of respect for him as a person after this.
players sometimes forget that sligo rovers have saved faz from what looked liked an ailing career after his release from swindon.
we pay his wages and its hard enough to get people through the gates without having players behaving like faz.
so true.lets see Faz tell Cookie to fcuk off when he shouts at him though :p He was really getting into it this season for us but hes just not on form tonight or last week.I'd say thats his last match at the Showgrounds in a Rovers jersey. Matthew Judge is starting to show is form again you know hes starting to fight for the ball and trying harder too get the goals hope Judge can keep it up. Unless Anto was injured why did he come off ? hes our main threat the whole night he also had our best chance of scoring. Just out of curiosity was it an all Sligo crowd last night ?

he dose not play left back he hates playing their. It doesn't matter, he's simply not good enough. He looks so unfit too, was out of breath for most of last nights game and UCD players had the pace on him anytime they ran at him. Keith Foy would be a better option there last night, he's not as fast but he rarely got caught out of position.

I missed the team announcments last night was faz on his own up front from the start ? I didnt see anyone up there with him. if Judge started I feel he might have gotten a goal for us. He did good when he came on fought for the ball and was unlucky to see a shot go inches wide.

Was impressed with some of the football played by UCD, the game was a massive improvement on the visit to the Bowl.
I think both sides made a genuine attempt to play football and try and win the game. Think we shade the first half and Sligo were quite strong in the second. Not a bad game as far as 0-0s in absolute down pouring rain go!

Between each stand a couple of dozen.
What was the Official attendance? That was my first match in Ireland passing through electronic turnstiles, does it take plastic?

Given they were taking cash at the turnstiles with no tickets, there can't have been an official crowd. About 800 was my estimate though. Very poor crowd, but to be expected with the weather and the Holland-Russia game.
Agree with what was said on here - decent enough game; we were much better in the first, Sligo were much better in the second and a draw was fair. Happy enough with it, especially given Sligo's home form; another decent result on our travels.

They seemed to have a good system in place for clocking the numbers passing through the turnstyles.

i have to say that ucd were a joy to watch - no hoofing - and proper football.
it was what summer football was designed to do. the two teams got the ball down and played - there could have been 5 or 6 goals and 2-2 would have been a fair result in my opinion.
rovers really missed seamie and we badly need a targetman.
judge seems to be rediscovering his form - hopefully he will be around for the rest of the season
i get the feeling that we are going to spend very little money for the remainder of the season and hope that we have enough points to stay up.
i think that will give us a good footing to make a concerted title attempt for next year. i just hope cookie is patient.

It is sad that we are building for next season in June. I think results like last Saturday are not good enough & it affects the attendance next week with further loss of funds - the crowd against UCD was brutal. If we dont win in Cobh, Cookie wont be the only one who neeeds patience!!!

If we're building for next year then we really are screwed. Surely we'll have a smaller budget so we're not going to do any better. Hopefully a win Saturday could kick-start something.
